My Idle System

In a simple room, sitting on the sofa, was Anastasia in different clothes wearing sundress, holding one of the modified phone Christian made, concentrating on something on the screen.

Christian lingered on the door, looking at her, before he took his phone, took a few pictures of her, snapping her attention to him with the click sound.

She gave him, an odd gaze, like he had already finished mating with his women? Already? But, Christian didn't dwell on that, and moved closer to her.

Like it was the most nature thing in the world, he sat then moved her to his lap, and only then, did he say, "Stacy, I want to change my main technique."

There was no need to go in roundabout way, between them… was what Christian determined.

Flattering and fawning, to kiss up to her before he asked her something... Christian felt like that was beneath them.

"Yes, you really need to change your technique." Anastasia nodded heavily.

"But. What kind of attribute the technique you wants it to be? Do you want to continue walking the path of Core Creation? Or do you have something else in mind?" with sparkling eyes, seemingly more excited about the topic than him, she showered him with questions as she moved her body, settling herself, properly and comfortably on his lab.

Yet, Christian didn't have the time to answer, when her questions continued.

"What about Times and Fire? Do you want to try going the Runes path? These are what I specialize in, so I can even guide you in your training."

Moving his hands to her face, and pinching her cheeks and stretching them, Christian chuckled and said, "calm down."

She blinked her cute big eyes at him, nodding slowly, yet, she still tried to explain the advantage of each path she suggested.

Christian stared at her, with a smile filled affection, even as he found himself at loss of words.

Time, Christian seriously pondered over this option.

To train in it, many dreams of, yet finding a technique was harder than ever, and even if they found a technique, things wouldn't end there.

For complex attributes like Time and Space, talent alone were not enough, they even need enough comprehension, otherwise it would simply be not worth it.

Annabelle, his sister was the best example, as talented as she was, her comprehension was still limiting her. But, to him with his high comprehension, it was a good option. Later maybe he could even try to make a time-space technique.

Yet, as tempting as all of this was, in the end, Christian took out it first.

It was an attribute, he was definitely going to dabble in it, but later.

Moving on there was Fire.

To him now, who has a Living Flame, training in fire, had many advantages, and selecting the opinion, could help him increase his fire power many times, but Christian still crossed out this option too.

Now, only Runes remained, and he was tempted the most by it.

It was a different power system all together, but that was fine, it's not like his progress in the Core Creation, would be erased, after all.

With Runes, he could do everything too, be it increasing his physical strength, wielding fire, helping in technology, the possibilities were endless... literally!

But is it really the time? Runes were difficult to study even with his current comprehension. To advance in in them, there was no specific technique to train in too. He needs to study, study, and keep studying, only after he reached a certain stage in understanding could he start engraving a rune on his body.

Hesitant, Christian decided to ask about what he has in mind originally.

"Is there no technique related to Shadow or Darkness? Something that could help in Concealment, I mean?"

"But most importantly, the technique should still be able to help in raising the maximum amount of comprehension when I advance stage."

Darkness, at this word, Anastasia paused. She remembered Rhea, and the technique she got from her.

It fit his requirements perfectly, and she got it for him.

So why... why does she feel sour like this?

Not dwelling on her feelings, Anastasia moved her hand to to the hand still holding her cheek tenderly and clenched slightly, as she said, "if you want to be able to go through a perfect advancement in life level, not only for one stage or two, but accompanying you until you reach the transformation rank, and if it's a technique from the Core Creation power system then the techniques suitable for you, that you could choose from are few."

"Aside from Time and Fire related, I have three techniques."

"First is the Boundless Chain Art, a complex technique, that can be used in attack, defense and support."

"It can bind enemies, connect allies, transfer essence, restrict movement, suppress techniques and anchor space, among its few uses."

"At higher levels linking damage, linking senses, linking lifeforce or even linking worlds is possible!"

Pausing for a moment, as she saw Christian's interest filled eyes, before she added.

"Once chained, escape becomes impossible... this phrase represent this technique."

It seemed like Christian was wavering but in the end he stayed silent, and so, Annabelle had to move on to the next technique.

Void Severance Technique, a technique related to space and the concept severance, or mote accurately separate... purely about attack, can be practiced with any blade, and can cut everything, in its ultimate form, it could, it could cut literally anything, fate that appears illusive for example.

Once again, Christian was tempted, the two techniques felt like they were stroking at his interest badly, but he restrained himself from making a decision and listened to the third technique.

"Primordial Abyss Scripture," in a defeated tone, Anastasia said the name of the last technique, yet Christian didn't have the time to dwindle on her tone, when she added, "It's Darkness related technique."

From its cool name and how it was darkness related, Christian could already feel like this was it.
