Chapter 1403: I’m Not a Pig
Qin Shen Shen was starting to doubt herself. Was this what people meant when they said once you got what you wanted, you stopped cherishing it?
Before, when she couldn’t see her God, she’d think that if one day she could just see him and say a few words to him, she’d be so happy she’d go crazy.
And yet, look at what she’d done.
She’d gotten her God hurt, and it was even because of her injury.
Qin Shen Shen started blaming herself again.
When she cooked lunch, she definitely had to put her heart into it.

Seeing Qin Shen Shen’s lips twitch, Huo Jinyan raised an eyebrow. "What? You think I’m wrong?"

Qin Shen Shen stood up. "I’m going to prepare lunch."
"Go on!" Huo Jinyan waved his hand.
Huo Jinyan’s lunch dishes were very simple: a pork ribs, corn and carrot soup, stir‑fried cucumber, snow peas stir‑fried with sliced pork, shredded pork with green peppers, and garlic prawns.
Of course, Qin Shen Shen always made herself an extra dish; today she was having beer‑braised duck.
She’d been here half a month, and the extra dishes she made for herself hadn’t repeated once.
She was even thinking of having hotpot that night.
The dishes she made for Huo Jinyan, besides suiting his taste, were all things she could eat too.
But as for her own dishes, most of the time, Huo Jinyan couldn’t eat them.
Precisely because of this, Huo Jinyan finally couldn’t hold back anymore; he wanted to eat spicy food.
"This duck is so good, not tough at all. It’s stewed till it’s falling apart, no gamy smell whatsoever. Smells amazing." After a few years abroad, Qin Shen Shen had been waiting to come back and write down all the dishes she wanted to eat.
Whenever she thought of one, she’d jot it down.
She’d finally saved up a list of several hundred dishes.
If she were on her own, she’d eat pretty simply.
But Huo Jinyan had a chef ready and waiting; if she didn’t make use of that, it would be a waste.
Perfect for making all those fancy dishes she’d been craving.
"Miss Qin Shen Shen, have you weighed yourself recently?" Watching her eat till oil was running down her mouth, he was so jealous!
Even though he preferred heavier flavors, he couldn’t eat with that kind of reckless abandon.
And he couldn’t handle food that was too spicy.
Watching Qin Shen Shen eat made his appetite surge, but he just couldn’t eat much.
"No," Qin Shen Shen shook her head honestly.
"No wonder. You haven’t noticed you’ve put on weight?" Huo Jinyan didn’t actually think her eating like this was bad; it was just that she was eating right in front of him, right under his nose—he couldn’t pretend he didn’t smell the aroma!
And did that mean he got to eat too?
"I’ve gotten fat?" Qin Shen Shen finally lowered her head to look at her waist and stomach.
She pinched them—it did seem like there was a bit more flesh.
Then she should eat a little less!
But her mouth still didn’t stop.
It was too delicious; how was she supposed to hold back?
She felt like she probably hadn’t gained that much, at most two or three jin.
After they finished eating, Qin Shen Shen didn’t wash the dishes. Most women didn’t like washing dishes.
She was one of them.
She only cooked for Huo Jinyan; she was only responsible for cooking—no washing or chopping vegetables, no clearing the table or doing the dishes.
Honestly, she didn’t have much to do all day.
"Are you going to sleep?" Qin Shen Shen was in such a good mood from eating that her attitude toward Huo Jinyan was extra nice.
Huo Jinyan: "I’m not a pig. I don’t want to sleep right after eating."
