Chapter 10: He put his arm around her shoulder
Just then, a tricycle cut across in front, the driver slammed on the brakes, and Lu Xingzhi, not sitting steadily, first knocked her head on the front seat, then fell back, caught by Huo Jincheng.
"Thanks!" Lu Xingzhi blushed terribly, having only met Huo Jincheng twice, and yet she had fallen onto him so many times already.
She even wondered if she had planned it all along.
Just as she was about to get up and sit back properly, she heard Huo Jincheng's enticing voice whisper in her ear, "Be careful."
"Okay!" Lu Xingzhi sat back properly again.
"It's still two hours to the airport. Lean back, it will be more comfortable." Huo Jincheng held her waist with one hand and gently pressed her shoulder with the other, letting her rest against the seatback. He teased her softly, "Don't worry, I don't bite."
Lu Xingzhi glanced at him with her clear, innocent doe-like eyes, blinked, and said earnestly, "I know."
Huo Jincheng's lips couldn't help but curl up a bit more. He was just teasing her, but hearing Lu Xingzhi's serious response, he found it hard to keep it in.
Lu Xingzhi seemed to relax, and not long after, she fell asleep.
