Chapter 56: The Sudden Crisis
With that, Heo Taegeon didn’t even care about his limp and stumbled off toward Second Uncle’s house.
Bok Taejin glanced at the radishes that was still buried in the soil and was about to follow when Heo Taegeon turned back around and said sheepishly, "Wait, no, we should move the radishes first."
Bok Taejin was speechless.
No more Gluton Beast emerged, and Heo Taegeon quickly dug up a radish, pulling it out with its roots intact.
For transplanting, it was best to keep as much of the original soil around the roots as possible.
However, because of the rats, Heo Taegeon deliberately shook off most of the soil and even brushed away the clinging dirt with his hands.
That revealed several clear bite marks—marks similar to the ones on Heo Taegeon’s torn pants.
Other than being bitten by the Gluton Beast, what else could have caused this?!
"This won’t do! We can’t plant them anymore!" Heo Taegeon declared firmly. "We have to tell Second Uncle right away, and we need to bring this radish too—it’s evidence, just like my pants!"
He glanced toward the distant shrubs, looking a bit regretful about tossing the rat’s corpse away so soon.
Then he grabbed the radish and started walking, but after just a few steps, he turned back and shoved it into Bok Taejin’s hands.
