Chapter 38: The Village’s Blacksmith
The rice was prepared in massive pots, and the vegetables were stir-fried in oversized woks, so they still had some free time during the day.
The older teenagers in the village followed the adults to hunt in the mountains, while younger children trained with the cooking team, practicing hand-to-hand combat and archery.
This way, their early training didn't go to waste.
Bok Taejin only knew about this because Im Beomhyeon had been in a good mood on their way down the mountain and had shared the information with him.
While Bok Taejin was reminiscing, Im Beomhyeon had already learned that Second Uncle was resting today.
He handed the bamboo shoots to Heo Taegeon and asking him to take them to the kitchen for processing, while he and Bok Taejin went to find Second Uncle at his house.
As for the bronze bamboo, Im Beomhyeon left it near the clay stove at the large kitchen.
While walking, Im Beomhyeon explained, "The bamboo shoots from that valley taste better than the ones from anywhere else. But since the place is cold and damp, most people don't want to go there unless they have to. Since we went through the trouble of getting them, we have to let Second Uncle cook them by himself."
Bok Taejin wholeheartedly agreed.
They found Second Uncle at home, and after hearing their request, he didn't refuse and immediately set off with them.
With the bamboo shoots taken care of, it was time to deal with the bronze bamboo.
However, instead of heading elsewhere, Im Beomhyeon simply stayed at the large kitchen, waiting for dinner.
