Chapter 36: Mud-Roasted Chicken Feast
Bok Taejin used a wooden stick to poke at the two mud-covered wild chickens in the fire and then struck them hard twice.
The hardened mud cracked, with some pieces even falling off.
Instantly, the aroma intensified.
Bok Taejin couldn't wait any longer and started peeling off the hardened mud.
As he did so, the chicken feathers came off along with the mud shell, revealing the golden, crispy skin underneath.
Bok Taejin swallowed his saliva hard.
This method of cooking wasn't exactly "clean" by modern standards.
Inevitably, the chicken would come into contact with a bit of dirt and picking up some ash.
However, even the ash carried the rich fragrance of roasted chicken—it almost seemed like a seasoning of its own.
