Invisible Security Guard

Chapter 1442 - 1441: The Eight Great Ancestors Appear

With Landyn Torres, the fierce warrior, standing guard, even the ancient gods couldn’t break through his defenses. Thus, everyone from The Eight Great Families remained safe and sound, while the numbers of the ancient gods dwindled. This was thanks to the seamless collaboration between Landyn Torres and Denton Schwartz along with the other Eight Great Clan Leaders. Landyn focused on destroying the enemies’ physical bodies, while the Eight Great Clan Leaders eradicated their divine souls.

The battle lasted only a dozen breaths or so. After twenty or more opponents fell, the remaining ancient gods suddenly fled.

This time, Landyn Torres didn’t stop them. He even removed the restrictions on the Formation, allowing these enemies to escape.

As for why he did so, Yusuf Zuck could tell: Landyn Torres was massively drained. Though he appeared invincible earlier, he had actually been burning his own life force to achieve victory quickly. If the enemy showed any intention of retreat, he would let them escape.

Moreover, he likely reserved part of his strength because he still didn’t know Yusuf Zuck’s true intentions. Thus, he had to keep enough power in case Yusuf Zuck made a move.

The unpredictable Dream could turn violent at any moment, and if he unleashed slaughter, aside from Landyn Torres who might hold his ground briefly, the others would be wiped out instantly by Yusuf Zuck.

Landyn Torres had to be prepared for the worst.

Yusuf Zuck didn’t chase after the ancient gods either. Killing them served no purpose; they couldn’t be truly killed, at least not before their physical forms arrived. Even if their divine souls were destroyed, it would merely harm their destiny to some extent. Meanwhile, their original forms continued to thrive in unknown realms.

Besides, the true enemies of the ancient gods were The Eight Great Families. Why should Yusuf Zuck aid them in fighting the ancient gods?

The ancient gods might harbor silent hatred for him, but Yusuf Zuck didn’t care. He was alone; wherever he went was his home. If the ancient gods truly returned in the future, he could simply hide.

The world was vast, and surely he would find a place to rest his feet.
