Invisible Security Guard

Chapter 1337 - 1336: Descendant of the Evil God

Within Sheppard Village, the mountains and fields are overrun with various venomous creatures, the numbers of which are vast and formidable. It is these very creatures that deter many advanced practitioners from venturing too close.

Yusuf Zuck’s reason for his soul possessing the body of a snake was due to the fact that snakes were faster than other poisonous creatures, darting between the underbrush like a flash of lightning.

After a short while, he slithered his way to a narrow, winding path. There were no steps or paving on this path—simply a trail flattened by foot traffic.

Continuing along the path without stopping, he traveled approximately a thousand miles and soon arrived at the entrance to another valley.

The previous regions he passed were dense forests. Aside from this narrow path, no other roads existed within. Poisonous creatures flanked the path on either side, so it was clearly a checkpoint. Anyone attempting to enter covertly would likely face thousands of venomous bites.

When Yusuf Zuck reached another valley entrance, he saw that this was the true Sheppard Village. Everything prior was merely the exterior entrance to the village. Or rather, even if you were to descend from the sky, you would land on the outskirts and endure countless bites from snakes, insects, and rodents.

At the second entrance stood an arched wooden gate resembling those found on grand doorways, constructed of timber, with two characters ’Sheppard Village’ etched above it.

But that was it—just two characters and a gate. As for what the valley contained, whether it housed a small village known as Sheppard Village, Yusuf Zuck had yet to find out.

As Yusuf Zuck lingered outside the gate in his snake form, suddenly a flash of light sparked at the wooden gate, swiftly followed by the old man with the basket on his back and another elderly woman stepping out. While walking, the old woman said, "Gael Berger’s arrival to the village is quite peculiar. Berger family’s orders are to escort him into the village for interrogation, and if necessary, capture and return him to Unrest City."

"Hmph, I always knew that Gael Berger was no good. His eyes are shifty! Moreover, the Berger family’s fate is running out. We should just go through the motions superficially," the basket-carrying old man snorted coldly.

"That’s right, the Berger family has been on top of our Sheppard family for tens of thousands of years, their time is ending, and the moment for our Sheppard family’s resurgence is not far!"
