The house was enormous, possibly with eight courtyards leading in and out. There were many servants and maids, and each courtyard had armed guards, indicating a high level of security.
The three of them were taken to a remote courtyard, a separate small yard enclosed by high walls with only a red lacquered main gate, in total solitude and seclusion. There were three rooms, with the main one in the center and two side rooms to the east and west.
