Chapter 394 - 393: Who did it?
"Mia, I have something to ask you." At a Western restaurant open in the evening, while Mia was voraciously eating her steak, Yusuf Zuck suddenly put down his knife and fork. Actually, he brought Mia out because he had something to question her about.
"What is it?" Mia asked indistinctly, while lifting her hand and calling out, "Waiter, two more steaks please, medium-rare." This girl could really eat, and no matter how much she ate, she never seemed to get fat.
"What exactly does your mother do?" Yusuf asked.
"My mom? Why are you asking about her?" Mia was confused.
"A few days ago, I met someone named Margaret Wilkinson..."
"What?" Yusuf hadn’t finished speaking when Mia interrupted, shouting so loudly that it startled the other diners around them.
"Where did you see her? How is that possible, how could you have seen her?" Mia was incredulous; she wasn’t even able to get in touch with her own mother.
"So, Margaret Wilkinson is really your mother? Do you know what she does for a living?" Yusuf observed Mia unpretentiously.
"She’s nothing but a charlatan," Mia whispered. "Years ago, didn’t a lot of people love practicing Qigong? Around the eighties and nineties of the last century, for some reason, she became obsessed with Qigong. At first, she practiced at home; later, she went to the park to practice with others. Then, not long after giving birth to me, she simply left home. Sometimes she wouldn’t return for months, and as I grew up, her visits became even less frequent."
"At one point, my dad even doubted if I was his biological child, and he had a paternity test done, okay? Then it turned out I was, and the whole family united against my mom. But what’s the use if you can’t find her? My dad was busy with his business and eventually paid her no more attention. Later on, my aunt felt that my mom had wronged my dad, so she took it upon herself to look after him. After that... I don’t know," Mia said with a shrug.
