Chapter 270: Living for My Sister
After talking to Sara on the phone, Yusuf didn’t rush home but continued to have dinner and watch a movie with Miles O’brien, also discussing recent events, including the situation in the shop and the amount of the staff’s year-end bonus, among other things.
At midnight, Yusuf returned home, and Miles went back to her villa; after all, it was late, and she needed her rest too.
The living room at home was very quiet, with only Sara there by herself. It seemed that old Zuck had gone back to the countryside, and upstairs there should be Dream Morrow and Everest Zuck, but they were all either drinking or sleeping and watching TV in their rooms.
"You’re finally back; you don’t care about me at all; I’ve been waiting for you all night!" When Sara saw Yusuf come in, she started to complain. With Yusuf staying away from home for days, she rarely caught sight of him.
"I’m not leaving this time, I’m really not. Hurry up and tell me what’s going on?" Yusuf had been thinking all evening about Sara’s filmmaking situation. As he no longer needed money, he could even start a film company and invest in making movies himself!
"We’re about to have our winter holiday, and many production teams come to our school to pick actors. I applied for a few, and then one from a war-themed production selected me. I’m not a lead or a supporting character, just someone who gets to show her face on screen, has a little part, a few lines, and acts against several extras. I accepted the offer and signed the contract. The filming will be in Shenyang, and the production team will cover food and accommodation, providing a daily allowance of two hundred. My part is about fifteen minutes long, scattered over the first ten episodes, so they’re giving me two thousand per episode. It will take about a month, so I can earn more than twenty thousand, nearly thirty thousand. You have no idea, a lot of my classmates are envious of me getting this role!"
"What about the director and the producer, who are they?" Yusuf asked.
"The director is someone called Zhang Shuai, probably a new face with no big reputation. The producer is Josephine Cooke; I haven’t heard of her either. But you don’t need to worry about safety; they came to our school to select actors, and everything has been vetted by the school authorities!"
