Chapter 247: Long-Lived Dog
Early the next morning, Yusuf Zuck went to Everest Zuck’s house in Fragrant Hills again and caught him practicing Tai Chi in the courtyard.
"Big bro, I’ve got something to tell you," Yusuf said with a chuckle as soon as he entered the yard, knowing that he needed Everest’s help.
"I won’t agree, so you’d better find someone else," Everest replied, continuing his exercise without looking at Yusuf. He knew about Faye Webb’s intention to take on the finance job and had obviously been informed by her after she returned.
"Faye told you, huh?" Yusuf was caught off guard for a moment, then nodded, "Since Faye has talked to you, I won’t go into it. It’s okay if you disagree; I won’t argue. Just help me arrange the burial and the soul-liberating rituals today, as I may have to fly to Hong Kong tonight." Yusuf didn’t press the issue. How Everest planned for Faye’s life was a matter between the two of them, and Yusuf wasn’t in a position to make decisions for Everest regarding Faye.
"That’s it?" Everest stopped, surprised by how readily Yusuf seemed to give up.
Yusuf shook his head: "I do have something on my mind, but you’ve already refused, so let’s drop it. Just help me with the burial site quickly."
"If you have something on your mind, just say it. I want to hear it," Everest sat down and gestured for Yusuf to sit as well, pouring him a cup of hot tea.
"You asked for it, so I’ll be straightforward!" Yusuf looked at Everest, "Is Faye Webb your cat or your dog?"
"Pff—" Everest, who had just taken a sip of the tea, spat it out at Yusuf’s outrageous question.
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Everest retorted, half-annoyed, half-amused.
