Chapter 215: Coming Back
On the morning of November 22nd, Jerome Hart drove to the airport to pick up Macklin Greene, a young girl, and arranged for her to stay at a five-star hotel, accompanied by the young nurse Paisley Kirk.
After a month of interaction with Old Master Zuck, Paisley Kirk had officially joined Yusuf Zuck’s team. Although her temporary job was merely a nurse at a clinic that hadn’t yet opened, Samuel Ross and the others didn’t treat her like an outsider. They would still call her to join them for a tasty meal and, occasionally, she would spend the night at the Zuck family home.
The young nurse was quite petite, fair, and tender, almost as if she had not fully grown yet, causing everyone to treat her like a little sister.
With Paisley Kirk as the companion, Jerome Hart was very reassured, as the smart girl had plenty of tricks up her sleeve.
That same morning at nine, representatives from the related department arrived at the Ruiz Family Garden, found Yusuf Zuck’s shop, and met Miles O’brien, inquiring about Yusuf Zuck’s whereabouts.
Just the day before, Fleur Carson had repeatedly stressed over the phone that they must not divulge that Yusuf Zuck had gone abroad, so Miles O’brien simply claimed that Yusuf had gone to The Great Northwest to collect antiques, as the shop had just opened and needed to stock up.
The department requested Yusuf Zuck’s mobile number, but they couldn’t get through, and Miles O’brien’s explanation was that perhaps Yusuf’s phone was out of battery. After all, it was quite normal for phones to run out of charge in the remote countryside of The Great Northwest without a way to recharge.
The department had no choice but to leave empty-handed.
In fact, the number Miles O’brien had given was an old one that Yusuf Zuck had long since abandoned.
After Yusuf Zuck had started using his new number, he had told them about his change of number and explicitly said not to share it with anyone else.
