Chapter 163: Mia’s New Bodyguard
At ten o’clock at night, Yusuf Zuck drove his Land Rover, and Ember Vance drove her Audi. They left Haidian one after the other, without making any phone calls to each other. Neither car was driven fast, with Ember Vance closely following the Land Rover ahead.
About half an hour later, the two cars parked side by side outside a nearby Western restaurant, and then they went upstairs together.
"Get a new phone card, and let’s not use the old phones to contact each other in the future. Also, my phone was taken by them before, could they have installed something like a listening device in it?" Yusuf Zuck whispered.
"Shh—" Ember Vance suddenly made a shushing gesture, then leaned in close to Yusuf Zuck’s ear, and spoke in a voice only he could hear, "Where’s your phone?"
"Left it in the car," Yusuf Zuck shrugged his shoulders and said.
"Oh!" Hearing that the phone had been left in the car, Ember Vance let out a sigh of relief and said, "That’s possible. Later on, throw away your current phone and swap the card to a new device."
"Okay, but isn’t there some way to monitor my calls by just knowing my phone number without needing to install a listening device?" Yusuf Zuck asked, worried.
"There is," Ember Vance nodded and said. "There’s a type of software that can be embedded into your SIM card which allows, even if you change phones, the interception of calls and text messages anytime."
"Then I should change my phone card as well. Not many people know my number, so it wouldn’t be too troublesome to switch to a new one," Yusuf Zuck got a bit scared. If his calls were being intercepted, it could ruin everything.
"Mhm." While they were speaking, they had already taken their seats in the Western restaurant. Yusuf Zuck ordered a double portion of steak and also a bowl of Italian pasta. Ember Vance asked for just a steak.
