About fifteen minutes later, Yusuf Zuck did not receive a call from Jade Cooke’s mother; instead, a person claiming to be ’Secretary Yang’ called him. After asking for Yusuf’s exact address and contact information, Secretary Yang instructed him to wait at the current location and that a car would be sent to pick him up shortly.
By noon, a military green military ambulance arrived at the hospital and found Yusuf, assisting him with the transfer procedures.
Yusuf didn’t ask any questions. The Shepherd family had enormous influence; arranging an ambulance was no big deal and not considered anything illegal or undisciplined. For the Shepherd family, it was hardly worth mentioning.
Of course, two emergency doctors from the military hospital also came along with the ambulance, taking care of Felix Zuck the entire way.
Old Xu didn’t follow Yusuf to the capital, but Yusuf took down his bank card number, claiming that he would send him money when he found the time.
That afternoon at seven o’clock, the ambulance brought Felix Zuck to Ditan Hospital—also the hospital where Jade Cooke was staying. The hospital had already organized a team of experts, who began a consultation as soon as Felix arrived.
Outside Felix Zuck’s hospital room, Yusuf once again saw Erasmus Cooke and his wife.
"Thank you, Uncle Shepherd, thank you, Auntie!" Yusuf bowed deeply to the two. He was genuinely moved by the Shepherd family’s righteousness in arranging the transfer to this extent and also felt they did not possess the overbearing demeanor of a prestigious family; on the contrary, they seemed quite approachable.
"Let’s not talk about thanks. You haven’t eaten, have you? Go have a meal first. I’ve found a care worker for you. After eating, come find us in Jade’s room. Jade wants to meet you, his great benefactor!" said Erasmus Cooke with a smile.
"He’s awake?" Yusuf exclaimed in surprise.
