Chapter 139: Trouble Arises
Paisley Kirk lived beyond the Fifth Ring Road, in a rented partitioned room she shared with others. Since it was very late, and Yusuf Zuck noticed that the area Paisley lived in was dark and secluded, he took the initiative to get out of the car and walked her back to her place.
However, once they arrived at Paisley’s place, Yusuf also frowned deeply. Paisley’s room was barely over ten square meters, with just a bed, a simple wardrobe, and nothing else.
"Brother Yusuf, I won’t invite you in to sit, it’s too cramped. You should get going, Ainsley is still waiting in the car," said Paisley, already inside her room, her face nervous and embarrassed. She wasn’t a native of the capital but from Hebei, only in the city for her studies.
"Mhm," Yusuf nodded. "You should get some sleep too." He didn’t say anything else, glanced at Paisley one more time, and then turned to walk downstairs.
After watching Yusuf leave, Paisley closed her door tightly, then leaned against it inside, her eyes reddening. She didn’t know why she felt this way, but she felt like crying!
Struggling alone in the capital was not easy. To be able to live in a partitioned room rather than a basement was already quite good, but in Yusuf’s eyes, it seemed to come as a shock. She didn’t know what he would think, whether he would laugh at her.
After Yusuf went downstairs, he looked up once more at the floor Paisley lived on before getting into the car and slowly driving away.
"Yo, why didn’t you stay up there for a while? That young girl seemed really sweet," Ainsley giggled.
"Mhm, just too cramped. I’m not interested in her, you, on the other hand, would be a different story!" Yusuf said with a mischievous smile.
"You think I wouldn’t dare? Come over to my place later, see if you have the guts?" Ainsley said boldly.
