Chapter 125: Fiery Temper
Inside the second-floor office of the CEO at New World Film and Television company, Bud Trujillo crossed his legs and took a keen interest in sizing up the two female students standing before his desk.
These two students were also junior college students from an arts academy, referred by someone else.
Being referred meant they came through connections, so for the two female students, this was a rare opportunity.
Neither had graduated yet, and if they could land a role, even just a minor one showing their face, they would be more than satisfied, as it represented a start. Thus, they were filled with hope.
Of course, when their referrer notified them to come over, he also hinted at something: the entertainment industry is chaotic, and being beautiful is not enough to get ahead. You have to understand the rules of the circle.
From that single sentence, the two female students understood the implicit message of their referrer: if they wanted to take on TV or movie roles, they would likely need to engage in the "casting couch" culture, exchanging sexual favors for more opportunities.
Naturally, in this era, there is no gain without giving something in return. If sleeping with someone could land them a leading role or even a major supporting role, it would be worth it. Besides, they were no longer naive girls; having dated several times in high school and university, and having given their bodies to several boyfriends already, they didn’t mind accompanying someone else.
That’s how society is nowadays; even without the implication of being exploited, when they felt lonely, they would use WeChat or Momo to find a man to hook up with, anyway. Thus, many young women no longer cared about such matters.
