Chapter 130: Time to Act
Darkan’s rise to a three-sun-star family had elevated its church to bishop-led status, granting them a 70-meter vessel and a thousand guards to patrol their expanded territory, including the Silver Duchy.
For a month, citizens trailed the vessel’s patrols, marveling at its rune-etched hull, a stark contrast to the dragons that once soared overhead. It was a symbol of pride, letting them boast to rival territories. And with the capital and the second city in natural safety, the vessel was deployed to move in those areas that their army couldn’t regularly reach.
However, even that had been changing recently.
The dragons’ regular patrols dwindled, their shadows passing only sporadically. The guard squads vanished, leaving the land eerily quiet.
For the underground organizations, this was their perfect moment to seize the power they’d craved for years, starting with the vessel on its routine patrol.
Today, as the vessel glided through the sky, a crushing pressure descended, its hull groaning under the force. Inside the command center, the Red Fang leader, Tad, gripped a console, his eyes narrowing. "What’s happening?"
"Sir, this seems to be the result of a powerful person," an operator replied, fingers flying over rune-lit panels.
"I thought only those above the 7th star could attack this vessel?" He asked in confusion.
"Yes, sir."
The implication left Tad reeling, ’8th star? In Darkan?’
"Identify who it is, now, and deploy the shield." He ordered, and the operators scrambled to carry out his order.
