"I accept!"
"I am willing to serve as an Infernal Envoy under Deus Initium!"
Taylor stood up from her chair in excitement. The sudden movement caused her to sway slightly, her aged body struggling to maintain balance. Yet, she quickly steadied herself against the armrest. The once-dull sapphire hue in her eyes seemed to glow with youthful radiance once more.
Her decision did not surprise Mia at all. Nodding, Mia said:
"I am currently the Infernal Scribe, temporarily overseeing infernal affairs. I will return for you tomorrow night. Once you enter the underworld, you will be forever separated from the mortal world. Use the time until dawn to bid farewell to your family."
"There's no need to keep your new role a secret—this is an honor bestowed upon you by Deus Initium."
Taylor nodded repeatedly, showing her understanding.
Seeing this, Mia finally left the room.
As she watched Mia's departing figure, Taylor was momentarily lost in thought. The mist that had once enveloped the room now seemed like an illusion. But the words "Infernal Envoy" had already taken deep root in her heart.
I may be old, but I can still serve Deus Initium!
She took a deep breath, her excitement gradually settling. Looking out the window at the slowly brightening horizon, she grabbed her cane and walked, step by step, toward her eldest son's room.
