The six thousand Mobile Crusaders came from all over Europe. Most of them were ordinary people before joining the Vatican. It had been over a hundred years since the Space-Time Rift appeared. Many sleeping magical creatures and super-tech structures emerged around the world. But since most of these appeared in remote places, and local governments blocked information, ordinary people did not know much about them.
These ordinary people, affected by the Magic Law, showed signs of physical evolution. When they noticed their own enhancements, most went through stages of shock, seeking proof, hiding it, and finally seeking help.
But most of them were in the early stages of physical enhancement. Even if they went to hospitals for proof, they would not get clear answers. As their symptoms worsened, they would inevitably seek help from family and the outside world.
Modern society has complete legal systems and widespread knowledge. Most people received a good education. They could easily realize that the changes happening to them involved public safety. So the best place to seek help was obviously not government departments, but local churches.
Because of this, the Vatican managed to gather such a large enhanced knight order. After these ordinary people turned enhanced beings experienced this great change and received information about magical creatures and super-tech structures from the Vatican, whether they had strong faith before or not, they often became fanatics.
With their physical fitness, plus several years of military training and teachings from the Ascetic Monks of the Church, most became qualified enhanced warriors.
Six thousand people scattered across Greater London’s 1,500 square kilometers seemed insignificant. But they were all enhanced. Even if their strength was less than Superhumans, a ten-person squad could control a large area.
This number basically covered the entire Greater London area. So after the Crusaders landed, London’s military police and fire systems quickly collapsed. Communication networks were interrupted by electromagnetic interference. Fires caused by the fighting spread throughout the city. Streets and alleys were full of people looking for shelters. Panic and chaos descended into an irreversible abyss.
However, after Alucard released the River of Death, the Mobile Crusaders in North London also suffered heavy losses. Combined with the continued resistance of the remaining British military police, current losses had exceeded one-third of the total.
