Book 8: Chapter 65: Return of the Demon Shadow
This was an irregular valley basin, several times wider than the paths they had passed through earlier.
The ground here had no giant boulders like the valley paths, and the soil was patchy with black and white spots, like many ugly patches, indicating the undead had cleaned this area of the valley.
However, everyone’s attention was not focused on these details, but on the large teleportation array in the center of the valley.
This teleportation array had three layers from top to bottom.
Each stone step was not very high, like three thinning pancakes stacked together, forming two neat stone rings about one meter wide each, aside from the top platform of the teleportation array.
Both the circular flat top of the teleportation array and the two stone rings centered around it bore complex and mysterious runes.
Some rune gaps still had traces of moss, but more had stone dust scattered about, as if newly carved.
It was due to these runes that this altar-like teleportation array was not mistaken for an altar.
The runes, which roughly formed an arcane circular pattern, had shiny magic crystals embedded at intervals.
