“It’s about time!” Qin Lun slowly rose from the sofa.
Most of the surveillance projections before him had already gone dark. Although he’d purposely reduced their number, after several days, the monitoring equipment’s energy had finally run out. His eyes were clear as he crouched down, pinched Little Mute’s cheek, and said with a smile, “If I die, go join Devil’s Horn City yourself. Find the Elven Race or the Demon Clan. They’ll take you to my residence. My two companions are there; you can follow them!”
“Yaya!” Little Mute uttered two soft cries and patted Qin Lun’s head like a little adult. This time, she didn’t insist on following him, seeming to understand that forcing herself along would only become a burden for the young man.
“I will come back!” Qin Lun smiled faintly, stood up, and walked into the depths of the sewer without looking back.
The young man raced through the sewer, heading in a specific direction. He had to thank Atlantis’s city designers; it was thanks to the city’s extensive sewer network that it afforded him this shortcut opportunity.
