Book 6: Chapter 41: Pairing Up
“Did you deliver them all?” Seeing that Little Squirrel had also returned safely, Qin Lun relaxed and leaned back on the sofa, smiling as he looked at the surveillance projection in front of him. He had played all the cards in his hand now; the outcome depended on what happened next.
He originally had five Treasure Map Fragments left, then he tore the two larger ones into smaller pieces, making seven fragments in total. Besides giving three to three of the six top fighters, he sent the four smaller ones to other directions in the Domination War area.
Qin Lun chose two ideal opponents to fight each other, but he couldn’t just go to them directly. First, his own combat strength wasn’t high enough. Second, he had to consider whether someone else might try to take advantage and intervene mid-fight.
So before joining any battle, he had to fulfill two conditions. First, weaken his opponents. Then, try to eliminate any interference that might occur during the fight, creating the most ideal duel environment for himself.
With the resources Qin Lun currently had, he could pull this off. Through days of surveillance, he had observed the daily activity areas of the six top fighters and the gathering spots of the other surviving Apostles.
This gave him a chance to arrange for the six top fighters to fight each other in pairs. While weakening them, he could also create opportunities to swoop in and benefit.
As for the other surviving Apostles, Qin Lun’s plan was simple. Use the remaining Treasure Map Fragments to lure them away from the six top fighters’ battle locations, trying to create a relatively fair duel setting for the top fighters.
Currently, there were about fifty-some surviving Apostles left in this Domination War area. The central area was dominated by the six top fighters, who were closest to the surveillance zone of the Underground Research Facility. The other Apostles were scattered in the four corners of the Domination War area. Besides searching for the legacy of Atlantis, most Apostles had started avoiding fights to prevent losing everything at the last moment.
Qin Lun set off several small explosions at the drop-off points of the last four Treasure Map Fragments, using up the few hand grenades he had taken from the warehouse.
