Book 6: Chapter 13: Trampling to Ruin
“In front of a true shooter, there are no so-called blind spots! Given the calculation ability of the Shattered Starry Sky’s laws, how could they design an arena that only benefits one side? This field is not only advantageous for you, but also the real stage to showcase a shooter’s prowess!”
Qin Lun sneered and mocked, “You gave up the numerical advantage of your summons, gathering them together to defend, which means you also forfeited the favorable terrain. Now that I’ve closed in to this distance, it’s too late for you to escape. The outcome is already decided!”
“Bang!” While speaking, Qin Lun’s left hand flicked, and the Claw Chain wrapped around his arm shot toward another nearby stone pillar. His body was still in mid-air, and with a swing of his right hand in front of him, a white bullet traced a beautiful arc, bypassing the stone pillar and heading toward Odo’s right temple.
Odo was startled, gritted his teeth hard, and pulled out another Magic Scroll from his chest. As soon as this Magic Scroll was torn open, his body was enveloped by an orange-yellow protective shield. The white bullet struck the surface of the shield, causing only a ripple before being deflected. It seemed to be a high-rank defense spell.
Qin Lun glanced down at the ground. After he left his original stone pillar, the Black Scale Beasts that had climbed halfway had to jump down from the pillar and surge toward him again. Although the leading alien was very fast, it couldn’t fly and couldn’t keep up with Qin Lun’s leaps between pillars using the Claw Chain.
“Heh, how many more Magic Scrolls do you have to use? Surrender, you’re no match for me!” Qin Lun dashed between two stone pillars, his gun firing continuously. While the Black Scale Beasts and the alien were busy defending themselves, the protective shield around Odo was visibly thinning at a rapid pace.
Hearing the familiar words from his opponent, Odo’s eyes blazed with anger, his face growing darker. He pressed his lips together, remaining silent. However, he knew in his heart that, just as his opponent said, if he didn’t make a change soon, the outcome of this duel would be decided.
The Summoner raised his head, a cold light flashing in his eyes. He secretly formed a hand seal with both hands and, for the third time, pulled out a fiery red Magic Scroll from his chest.
“I haven’t lost yet! Once you step into the trap, you’re the one who will die!” Thoughts raced through Odo’s mind as he resolutely tore the Magic Scroll in his hand.
As soon as this fiery red Magic Scroll was torn open, the entire arena became turbulent. Dense red starlight appeared in the sky, heading straight toward the area in front of Odo. In an instant, it gathered into a cloud of fire spanning several meters. The bullets Qin Lun fired, upon touching this fire cloud, burst into brilliant flashes and were instantly melted into droplets of molten iron that fell to the ground, scorching small black pits into the bluestone surface.
This guy… just how many high-rank scrolls does he have! Qin Lun’s mouth twitched slightly. He shook the Claw Chain, leaping into the air, trying to put some distance between himself and his opponent before the magic fully formed.
Seeing this, a hint of joy flashed in Odo’s eyes. The Summoner didn’t hesitate anymore. He opened his mouth wide, took a deep breath, his chest puffing up like a frog’s, and blew toward the fire cloud in front of him.
“Whoosh!” The fire cloud trembled violently, as if receiving a command, and condensed inward, transforming into a roaring dragon head made of flames.
“Roar!” The fire dragon opened its eyes, and Qin Lun’s figure was reflected in its flame-formed pupils as it swiftly charged toward him.
Fire element eighth-rank magic—Flame Dragon Bullet!
Powerful, but unfortunately too slow! He should have seen my Swift Wind Step. Why would he use such a high-rank fire spell that’s hard to control or change mid-course? Unless… is he still counting on that?
Qin Lun narrowed his eyes, his gaze shifting as the clock-like pupils in his eyes jumped again, revealing a third hand. With a quick glance from the corner of his eye, he immediately assessed his surroundings.
If that’s the case, then I’ll completely trample your hopes!
Swift Wind Step!
Qin Lun’s figure flashed, and the Flame Dragon Bullet narrowly missed him from behind. The young man’s raised hair curled slightly, emitting a faint burnt smell.
“Boom!” The Flame Dragon Bullet didn’t hit Qin Lun but shattered the stone pillar in his leaping direction into pieces. Stone fragments scattered in all directions like bullets.
Qin Lun, who had avoided the Flame Dragon Bullet, didn’t show any joy on his face. Instead, for the first time, he wore a trace of seriousness. The three hands in his eyes jumped at an unprecedented speed. Since he had used Swift Wind Step in mid-air, Qin Lun was now heading toward another slightly shorter stone pillar nearby.
Odo lowered his head slightly, hiding his ecstatic yet fierce expression. He waved his staff, and the Black Scale Beasts and the alien on the ground immediately swarmed in that direction.
“Snap!” Qin Lun flicked the Claw Chain, tightly latching onto the side of this stone pillar. He extended his body, about to step onto the empty top of the pillar.
“Hiss!” Just then, a faint sound of something cutting through the air came from in front of Qin Lun. However, this sound was masked by the massive explosion of the Flame Dragon Bullet, seeming entirely inconspicuous—as if it were just a small piece of debris flying in this direction.
However, Qin Lun suddenly tilted his head and raised his right hand. Angel’s Praise barely grazed his right temple.
“Ding!” Angel’s Praise, pressed against his cheek, seemed to have been struck by some kind of sharp blade, producing a metallic clang.
“Hmph!” Qin Lun sharply pulled the Claw Chain, twisted his body in mid-air, and delivered a flying kick. His right leg swept across the top of the stone pillar like a whip.
“Thud!” His right leg hit something as hard as iron, and immediately, ripples spread through the air as if an invisible person had been standing on the pillar’s top and was now knocked down by Qin Lun.
“Swish, swish!” However, the creature that occupied the top of the pillar clearly wasn’t willing to give up. Sounds of something cutting through the air were heard continuously, as if an invisible Blade Whip were sweeping and thrusting repeatedly, trying to knock Qin Lun out of the air completely.
“Heh!” The three hands in Qin Lun’s eyes spun rapidly. His left foot tapped the side of the stone pillar, and his body leaped high into the air. His right leg, flexible as a whip, kicked out repeatedly, precisely intercepting every strike of the invisible Blade Whip.
On the ground, Odo’s eyes widened in astonishment. In his view, Qin Lun’s right leg kicks were almost identical to the alien’s tail whip attacks—as if he were an alien wearing human skin, completely copying his opponent’s moves.
While kicking with his right foot, Qin Lun flicked his left hand, and the Claw Chain coiled into a lasso, aiming for the top of the stone pillar. In the next moment, it completely bound the invisible creature. To others, it looked as if he had tied up a formless, intangible mass of air.
“Bang, bang, bang!” By now, Qin Lun, leaping in the air, began to descend. Both hands’ Burial of Light and Darkness furiously poured bullets forward.
“Roar!” The bound invisible creature could no longer endure and let out a painful howl.
Dark green blood suddenly gushed out from the air, splattering in all directions like ink. A ripple passed through space, and on the empty top of the stone pillar, a tall alien tightly bound by the Claw Chain abruptly appeared!
Finally revealed? Qin Lun secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Two streams of bloody tears flowed from his clock-like eyes, and the three hands slowly faded away.
In reality, his Clock Eye had also reached its limit. Although the simulation ability of the three hands was only used for a few seconds, not to mention the rapidly consumed Stamina Points, even his eyeballs had suffered some damage. He was now tasting the same bitterness Deputy Dean David had once experienced.
The alien, roaring in pain, lifted its head, slightly crouched, and then kicked off with its legs, leaping into the air toward Qin Lun. Its body, riddled with bullet holes, convulsed violently, and the dark green blood inside shot out toward Qin Lun like countless water arrows.
Truly a ferocious beast born for battle! Qin Lun’s eyes lit up, revealing an unconcealable admiration. Honestly speaking, this alien was stronger than the current Cerberus. Perhaps its Health Points were lower than the Inferno Hound’s, but it moved like the wind, nimble and agile.
Most importantly, the alien’s combat intelligence and will to fight far surpassed the current Inferno Hound’s. If one had to compare the two, then the current Cerberus was still just a slightly clever, spoiled puppy, while this alien was a mature, tenacious warrior.
Qin Lun was now in mid-air, the Claw Chain tied around the alien, and the cooldown for Swift Wind Step hadn’t ended yet. This alien had obviously, through instinct from watching the previous fight, deduced the best combat strategy for the moment.
Whether the target was splashed by its corrosive blood or struck by its body, he would be knocked to the ground, surrounded by the Black Scale Beasts and the other alien. This alien, tasked with ambushing from the shadows, even severely injured, was stubbornly persisting to complete its mission.
Following a novice master is such a waste of your combat talent! Qin Lun sighed slightly. The next moment, a ring of fire erupted around him. The Shahbakh Ring, which had always seemed useless, finally played its most critical role at this moment.
The flame ring, reaching 1500 units, acted like a hurricane, blowing away both the alien and the dark green blood spraying toward Qin Lun. The fierce blast beautifully dealt a blow to the alien’s head and even triggered the small chance stun effect. The alien leaping in the air could no longer control its body and tumbled away into the distance.
What a pity! A sharp glint flashed in Qin Lun’s eyes as a crystal-clear Pentagram Crystal Mirror suddenly appeared beneath his feet.
“Bang!” Amid a sound like shattering glass, Qin Lun’s body suddenly transformed into a streak of light. He caught up with the tumbling alien from the air like lightning, his right hand’s Angel’s Praise now replaced by the sinisterly gleaming Dagger of Sin.
“Thud!” The Dagger of Sin plunged deep into the alien’s glossy black skull. Leveraging Qin Lun’s momentum and the alien’s own tumbling force, it split the streamlined head from front to back! Qin Lun’s fingers moved like a blur, skillfully avoiding the splattering dark green blood.
After doing all this, Qin Lun flicked his left hand, and the Claw Chain detached from the alien’s body. With another swing, it latched onto a nearby stone pillar, and he gracefully swung up to the top of that pillar.
Although the exchange between Qin Lun and the alien was dazzling, the actual combat time was only about ten seconds. Odo on the ground was still stunned and mesmerized, unable to react before the fight was over!
As soon as this invisible ambushing alien died, the other alien on the ground underwent a bizarre change. Its form rippled slightly, then quickly faded and disappeared into the air.
“Your greatest reliance and trap have been trampled to ruin. Do you still want to continue?” Qin Lun crouched slightly on top of the stone pillar, looking down mockingly at the dumbfounded Summoner.
