Chapter 741. Where Is Mauve?
"Lord Phelan’s estate was attacked last night," Erick blurted as Jael stepped aside to hear what he had to say.
Jael’s eyes widened, and several emotions passed across his face, but before he asked further questions, Jael pulled Erick further away. Vampires’s ears were quite sensitive. It wasn’t that he wanted to hide the information, but he didn’t want it to distract from what was currently going on.
"What?" he yelled when he was satisfied with the distance between them and the vampires on the field. "Are you sure?"
Erick nodded. He knew how important and serious the issue with Palers was. His father’s estate had also been attacked, he wouldn’t make a joke about this. "Yes, Sire. Lord Phelan sent a letter. The messenger didn’t stay. As soon as he gave the letter to the guard to give it to the Primus, he was gone. I didn’t even get to see him before he left."
Jael swore and looked at Erick. The fact that Erick wasn’t here with the letter meant he must have gone through it himself and decided to tell him. "How bad?" Jael asked.
"Very bad," Erick said with a solemn face. "Luckily, Lord Garth’s estate isn’t so far away. He was able to get some help, but not until after the damage was done."
Jael punched the wall. "Casualties?"
"Yes. Three vampires died, and one was taken away. I suppose it’s safe to admit they are dead. A lot of vampires were injured, but these aren’t injuries they can’t recover from."
Jael swore. "What else did Lord Phelan say?"
