The Vampire King's Possession

Chapter 517. Omitted Details

"It is, I’d be sad if I couldn’t bear a child for my mate," Mill said as she tried to console Mauve. "I’d be devastated. I know you love the Primus and I know he loves you too. He doesn’t exactly do a great job at hiding it. It’s like he wants everyone to know," she grinned.

"You’re just saying that to cheer me up," Mauve whispered.

"No, I have no reason to lie to you," Mill responded.

"You’re right but doesn’t it bother you?" She asked and wrapped her arms around herself. "I know it bothers the rest of the vampires."

"Bother me? Surely, you’re joking. I’d rather you be Jael’s mate than any of the other stuck-up vampires who don’t hesitate to show off their status."

"I am human."

"And my father thought I was cursed. You’re preaching to the choir."

Mauve chuckled, "I suppose I am. I am not really a princess," she blurted out.

"What?" Mill blinked, a little taken aback by the information.

"My mother was a peasant, she’s not the Queen. My mother had died of a disease when I was five, leaving me in the castle. My father hated me for this, for the shame I brought to him, and wasted no time in getting rid of me when I was old enough. I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you before now but you see I couldn’t but when I left and came back, Jael said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t completely royalty."

"I don’t care about your roots," Mill whispered but Mauve could see she was still processing the information Mauve had dumped on her lap.
