Chapter 481. Powerless
Jael frowned as his gaze rested on his personal guards. They looked exhausted. The sad part was that this was only the beginning.
"She almost made one of us stay back," Erick said with a curse. "No matter how many times we told her reinforcement would arrive before the night ends, even though you already had this conversation with her."
"That’s expected," Louis started to say. "Her estate was brutally attacked, of course, she would want to keep at least one of you to ensure their safety should another attack ensue."
"I suppose you’re right," Erick said without further argument.
"Sire," Danag called. "What’s the decision?"
"The same. Getting more security and supplies for Francine’s estate. They would need some time to repair whatever damage was done, we will make sure to help in any way we can."
"Yes, Sire. That IS the only help we can offer," Danag agreed.
"Since the squad has been on a break since the last incident, what was the kid’s name again?" Jael asked.
"Vans," Louis replied with a disappointed look.
Jael completely ignored this. "Therefore I would appoint some guards to take care of their security. Oh, that reminds me, I made a few changes. Otis has been quite curious about the situation, he is in charge. All or any one of you might decide to accompany them, if you like. They will be there for at least a week. That should be more than enough to repair the broken fence. If that’s not enough, I’ll extend their stay to another week."
Danag exchanged looks with Louis who shrugged. "As you wish, sire. When would they set out?" Danag asked.
