Chapter 457. A Party?
Jael sat at his usual seat in the dining hall. On his left was Louis, on his right was an empty seat Mauve had been occupying but she left about five minutes ago.
The meeting started immediately after and Jael found that he wasn’t paying any attention but it wasn’t like he was missing anything.
So far, it was just Danag giving a brief explanation of what had happened during the past couple of days. To be honest, he would rather not talk about it now but the Lords who were a part of the operation insisted.
He looked over to Kieran, the young lad didn’t look like he had gotten much sleep in a very long time and Jael was certain that was the case.
After working hard on making more of the drug and making the long trip here, he didn’t even get any chance to rest before he had to deal with the vampire that was attacked.
Jael grabbed his forehead. He hadn’t expected things to go very smoothly but the whiny Lords weren’t helping the case.
To make matters worse, he didn’t feel like he was making a dent in the war against Palers and he could tell a lot of them would be happy to see him fail.
"Vans’ situation was pretty unfortunate," Otis said.
Jael blinked at the sound of his voice. He forced himself to listen to the conversation. He could tell Otis was about to say something that would piss him off. While Lords at the table nodded to his words, Jael kept his expression neutral.
