"Respect yourself, Seraphino. You’re in the Primus’ presence you should know better than to speak in such a manner." Lord Levaton scolded.
"Should we now be wary of voicing out our opinions simply because it might not appeal to the Primus?" Seraphino returned.
Jael swore this was turning out to be a mess and the more he tried to salvage the situation, the more it worsened. If he let this drag on, he might end up not dealing with all the issues tonight.
"I have heard your complaints and while I see why withholding the information was important, I understand that some of you don’t see it that way. However, I can’t change the past and you’ll all have to move on from it." Jael said without one hint of remorse.
Lord Phelan looked like he wanted to say something in response but Jael didn’t let him and continued to speak. The Lord looked slight
"As I have said, there is no conclusive evidence that it was a planned attack and it was simply a case of wrong place, wrong time. Back to the matter at hand, I expect the special unit to begin their training immediately and you all are expected to provide good enough guards. The battle against the Palers isn’t an easy one, it is something that has been going on for centuries. However, before I lay down your role, Lord Kieran would give you full details on all he has found out about the Palers and how we intend to go against them."
Jael leaned back against his seat and watched Kieran stand to his feet. He wondered what their reaction would be to the drug. There was a very high chance they would whine about it. He winced, he wished he had been able to test out the drug himself. At least that would shut down whatever complaints they might have.
