Chapter 216. Knitting.
She managed to get to the bottom of the stairs without incident. She quickly made her way to the kitchen and was greeted by two guards.
They opened the door for her without really looking at her and she walked in to discover that Jael wasn’t even in the dining.
Mauve walked into the dining to see Damon sitting. He was the only one in the hall aside from the servants.
"Damon," she said as she got closer and took a seat.
He nodded at her but did not say anything. She didn’t expect any less. This was mostly how conversations with him went.
She looked around, feeling a little awkward and still slightly angry. Jael wasn’t here then where was he? She wasn’t sure if she should be concerned or not.
The door opened and the physician walked in. She had not seen him much except during meal times after he checked his arm yesterday.
"P-princess," he said as he laid his eyes on her.
He smiled at him, "Jean. Did you rest well?"
He nodded as he briskly walked past her. She couldn’t help but feel he was avoiding her. Conversation with him felt a little strained but they haven’t exactly talked much so she was most likely seeing things.
He didn’t seem eager to strike up a conversation with her and She also didn’t want to tell him that she might have failed to get him home as early as she wanted so she didn’t say anything more.
