Chapter 147. Ready To Go
His eyes on her never wavered. She swallowed and he could see her visibly debate what he just said in her head.
"Go get ready," Damon said without giving them time to contemplate. "Make sure you get everything you need if you need money to buy it..." He paused dramatically as he stared hard at them. "Let me know."
"I haven’t completely decided to go with you," Jean said.
Damon shrugged and went down the stairs. He waved them away and he heard them scramble to leave. Just outside the door, he could hear the older woman yelling over the young man who sounded annoyed.
Damon sighed and sat back on the ground. He would have to make his way back to Xanthus Estate as fast as he could. He was just glad, he wasn’t showing up empty-handed.
"That went well," Zane said sarcastically.
Damon didn’t even raise his head. He just closed his eyes as he tried to get some sleep but he knew he was too anxious to but at least he could rest his body.
Damon frowned, he could hear soft footsteps. They sounded like the young woman that had come by earlier. He wondered what this was about but by the sounds of her footsteps, she was hesitant.
She stood by the door for a while and Damon thought she might turn around and leave but after a couple of minutes, she turned the knob. He didn’t stir from where he sat and neither did Zane.
