Chapter 257: Character Introductions (End of Book 3: Book 4)
Marcus Hadast, Governor of the City of Hadast, Age 54
A middle-aged man who holds the title of Baron from the Castilia Kingdom and the rank of Pasha from the Anatolian Empire. It’s common for local lords on borderlands to serve multiple nations, and Governor Marcus, ever the diplomat, has also accepted a baron’s title from the Silesie Kingdom. He often wears a white turban and the attire of Castilian nobility, perhaps to demonstrate his allegiance to both countries.
Though he’s a weak governor who is helpless against the pirates in the area, Marcus is always friendly and has a remarkable adaptability, never opposing a stronger opponent. His city is the only place on the Eura Continent where humans and demons live side by side and even engage in trade. His unexpected skills in diplomacy have helped him build friendly relations with the reptilian demon tribe, the Sheba, who dwell in the desert.

De Sheba Deba, Chieftain of the Reptilian Sheba Tribe, Age 60
An elder with a long, white beard, De is easily recognized as an old man despite the general agelessness of reptilian features. Reptilians typically only live up to forty, but De stands out with his extraordinary longevity, a rarity among his kind. His authority is absolute, and he is deeply respected by the Sheba tribe, who value his extensive knowledge. He speaks the human tongue, albeit in broken phrases, and is ever eager to introduce new blood into the tribe to explore potential evolutions of the reptilian species. He even entrusted his granddaughter, Rara, to Takeru in the hopes of future offspring.
-0-
Ra Sheba Deba (Rara-chan), Half-Reptilian Girl, Age 13
The granddaughter of the chieftain, Rara is a mix of reptilian, human, and other demonic bloodlines.
She has gray skin, a human upper body, and limbs and a tail characteristic of reptilian demons. Her slit pupils and other half-reptilian traits are evident upon closer inspection. She typically wears a simple cloth tunic and goes by the name “Rara,” as Takeru calls her, although her true name is “Ra.” The Sheba tribe places little importance on names, and so no one minds much. As a half-breed, she has a keen interest in the outside world and considers herself lucky to be traveling with Takeru, as the Sheba tribe usually restricts their females from leaving the tribe.

A young priestess with a possession trait that allows her to synchronize her mind with others and read their thoughts.

Despite her grandiose speech as a pope, she remains a normal little girl inside.

In contrast, her skin is pale, and her full, curvaceous body is wrapped in a loose white cotton robe.

Lance and Renton, Gatekeepers of Antil Town
Lance is a young soldier-in-training, while Renton is an experienced, older soldier. They mistake Takeru, who was traveling with Rara-chan, for a knight of the demon nation. Lance meets a tragic end at the claws of Barbariccia’s griffin, while Renton survives with severe injuries.

His rugged face is framed by an unkempt beard, giving him the look of a seasoned knight.
Despite his weathered appearance, he is not as old as he seems.
Barland is a skilled warrior with strong leadership, maintaining the city’s peace and combining wisdom and bravery as a hero who has survived numerous defeats. He single handedly supports the crumbling nation of Abysspania.

A descendant of the Holy Liliella Queendom, which emerged on the Eura Continent 1,200 years ago and fell a millennium ago.

Tragically, she lost her parents before she could even stand, becoming queen of the nation as an infant.
-0-
Pudding Harant, Amorette’s Nursemaid, Age 24
Initially mistaken for the queen, Pudding is actually Barland’s wife and the mother of his child, which allows her to serve as the queen’s nursemaid.
Despite her youth, she is married to Barland, who seems unexpectedly energetic for his age.
Barland, smitten with her, rarely opposes his wife’s decisions, making her the dominant force in the household.
Unlike her idealistic husband, Pudding is a practical and astute woman.

Barbariccia, Great General of Linmon, One of the Six Demon Nations, Age 37
A fierce warlord of Linmon, bestowed with a griffon battalion by the Great Demon King.
He appears imposing in his lamellar armor and a black panther fur draped over his head, entering the battlefield with a menacing laugh and an air of overconfidence—only to be sniped dead within three minutes.
Barbariccia might have hoped to intimidate the enemy into surrender, but his arrogance cost him dearly on the battlefield.
His second-in-command, Cagnazzo, met the same fate, resulting in a devastating blow to the command structure of their invasion of Antil Island.

Damons Korang, Admiral of Times, One of the Six Demon Nations, Age 35
An admiral with two magnificent water buffalo horns, Damons commands a fleet of 500 ships and wields the “Red Dragon Scale,” allowing him to control sea dragons—a gift from Great Demon King Ifriil.
Unlike the reckless Barbariccia, Damons is cautious and perceptive, harboring doubts about the demon nation’s grand strategy.
He ultimately surrenders to Takeru, swayed by the promise that his human-blooded family would be spared.
Damons descends from the mighty “Admiral Korang,” who once ruled the Times seas, inheriting his powerful bloodline.

She relentlessly pursued Admiral Drake and eventually won his affection (in a suggestive sense) at Avana Port.
Because of a certain curse, she remains in her current half-dragon god form, making her distinguishable from others only upon close inspection: she has longer blue hair, a smaller frame, and petite wings and claws compared to other Dragon Maids.
She is a feminine type who makes a living with crafts like knitting on the island.

Berenice, Knight of the Silesie Royal Guard, Age 24
With dark skin and the long ears of a black fairy dwarf, Berenice is an exceptional talent who rose from commoner origins to become a royal knight.
Starting as a kingdom soldier, she climbed the ranks from squire to full-fledged knight.
Her achievement is remarkable, as it’s exceedingly rare for black fairy dwarves to become soldiers, let alone knights, suggesting she’s an unusual case.
Known for her boldness, she has earned distinctions by defeating many enemy knights.

However, her slight recklessness, fondness for crude humor, and obsession with muscular physiques are her shortcomings.
Clementine Mancine, Knight of the Silesie Royal Guard, Age 18
Clementine is a noblewoman with golden drills and a delicate appearance, but she possesses monstrous strength.
As the daughter of the Viscount Mancine family, which rules the city of Vienne, she could not inherit her family’s title and chose the path of a female knight instead.
Despite being the strongest knight in the order and possessing high ideals and abilities, her shy personality has kept her from shining on the battlefield.
She frequently calls out for her “Papa,” suggesting she may have a slight father complex.
She has experience serving as a vice-captain during wartime.
Clementine’s family lineage traces back to the heroic founder, Rodriguez of the Holy Lance, and her father is Lord Rodrigo Vienne Mancine.

His immense magical power allows him to cut through orichalcum swords.
After stabilizing the easily governed province of Linmon, he faced a rebellion from the Abysspania Liberation Army.

He is the young head of the Ilman family, one of the sixty-six demonic noble houses, and descends from a lineage known as the “Darkness of the Abyss,” one of the Three Demon Generals who served the first Demon King.
A vampire bat-type demon of noble blood, Delisio is an ambitious knight captain who often looks down on his superior, Governor Sardival, a civil official.
Following the governor’s death, Delisio interpreted the order to protect the city broadly, aiming to take control of the provincial capital, Presidio, as acting governor.
However, his lack of popular support led to failure in uniting external forces like Bihan’s, resulting in conflict between the two that ultimately caused the fall of the capital.
-0-
Val, Knight Captain, Age 23
A commoner with great ambition, Val attempted to rise to power by backing Bihan but ultimately failed.

Though kind and attentive to others’ opinions, he often finds himself caught between the demands of his superiors and subordinates, causing him constant stress.
Occasionally, he succumbs to his frustrations and eats grass, bleating, “Meh.”
Despite his relatively modest position within the demon army, anyone below the rank of general must go through him or the chancellor to have an audience with the Great Demon King.
Due to the high volume of petitions, Demogorgon is aged far beyond his years from the strain.
