Book 2: Chapter 247: Reckless Youth, Two Hearts Aligned
Vol 2 Chapter 247: Reckless Youth, Two Hearts Aligned
On Mount Tongming, golden light flickered in the eyes of Master Wuzhi from Leiyin Temple, as if surveying the vast world in all directions.
Zhenren Chengkong and Xie Qingxue stood beside him, while Zhenren Tongming and the others waited behind them.
“Two fronts. Chenyang County and Pu County. Two Soul Formation cultivators from the Demonic Sect on each side. The Netherworld Immortal is not among them.”
After a moment, Wuzhi concluded with certainty.
Though thousands of miles away, he could clearly observe the movements of the Great Freedom Demonic Sect.
Even Chengkong had to marvel at the power of his Heavenly Eye.
The other three all looked at him, waiting for a decision.
“Chenyang is Jiushan Sect. Pu County has another Soul Formation cultivator from my Taishang Dao…” Chengkong mused briefly, “Let’s go to Pu County first!”
Xie Qingxue raised an eyebrow, seemingly standing up for Jiushan Sect: “Your fellow Taishang cultivator should be rescued, but the Jiushan group was also invited by you.” “You misunderstand me, Fairy Xie,” Chengkong quickly explained, “My thinking is—save the weak first, then the strong!”
“The Jiushan group should be able to hold out longer. If we go to Pu County first and then Chenyang, we should still make it in time!”
Even Zhenren Tongming was momentarily stunned—by most standards, Jiushan Sect, with no Soul Formation cultivator, should be the weakest of the six groups.
But Chengkong thought very differently.
“Zheng Fa and Zhang Wuyi from Jiushan can both fight at Soul Formation level, and they have the Jiushan Realm protecting them... They may not win, but defending themselves won’t be hard.” Chengkong analyzed. “Pu County’s group, on the other hand, is seriously outmatched.”
Hearing that, Xie Qingxue was surprised at his faith in Jiushan Sect, but found the logic convincing and raised no further objection.
Chengkong then instructed Zhenren Tongming: “Stay stationed on Mount Tongming. Don’t let a single Demonic Sect remnant escape!”
“Rest assured, Envoy!”
...
Zheng Fa had no idea that Zhenren Chengkong thought so highly of Jiushan Sect.
But he did know that the Great Freedom Demonic Sect held him in similarly high regard.
Within the Jiushan Realm, on Heavenly Palace Island, a curtain of light blanketed the sky like a quilt.
In the light curtain, the figures of Senior Sister Zhang and the others were visible.
Not only had the two Rakshasa Law Bodies arrived, but sinister spiritual energy also surged within the darkness surrounding them—likely with hidden Demonic Sect Nascent Souls lurking. 𝙧ÄΝƟBÊ𝒮
Zheng Fa reached forward, and the Sun and Moon Bell shot up from the Medicine Garden to hover before him.
“Dong! Dong!”
Beneath the Sun and Moon Bell, a pitiful and innocent-looking blood-red Immortal Sword was struck dizzy, faintly revealing a ghostly figure.
“...”
The Ancestor of the Blood River glared fiercely at Zheng Fa, full of resentment—I haven’t even done anything yet!
“Who are those two?”
Zheng Fa pointed at the two Law Bodies in the light curtain.
He had brought the Blood River Ancestor here first to keep a close watch, so the latter wouldn’t act up.
Second, he hoped to extract some useful information from him.
The Blood River Ancestor said nothing, clearly unwilling to cooperate.
But his gaze toward the Yin-Yang Rakshasa revealed some dread.
Zheng Fa wasn’t disappointed. He turned his attention to that grotesque yet seductive face.
Yin-Yang Rakshasa seemed to sense something—on the female half of the face, the corner of the mouth curled toward the Jiushan crowd in a mock greeting.
Zheng Fa’s heart skipped.
Before, the seductive Demonic Sect woman had pulled every trick in the book in front of him, but he’d only felt like watching a show, even a bit smug at his willpower.
But now, a primal, unspeakable desire surged from the depths of his bones and soul. He felt the urge to jump out of the Jiushan Realm, crawl to the Rakshasa’s feet, and beg.
That tidal wave of lust shattered all self-control and reason. He was on the verge of disgrace.
Just then, the Yin-Yang Fish Jade Pendant in his mind quivered!
A wave of cold washed out from the jade, jolting him into a state of detached clarity...
“Huh? That fast?”
The Blood River Ancestor, who had sworn to keep silent, couldn’t help blurting out in surprise.
Zheng Fa felt a bit shaken—if not for that pendant, he might’ve just lost himself.
He looked around. Many Jiushan disciples now within the Heavenly Palace Island were in utter disarray.
Some were fluttering toward the light curtain like moths, enchanted by the Yin-Yang Rakshasa.
Those with weaker cultivation who couldn’t fly were even worse—regardless of age or gender, their eyes were foggy with lust, hands already disrobing.
Even separated by a realm, Jiushan people were like this. The effect on those like Senior Sister Zhang out in Xuanyi Realm would be far worse!
Zheng Fa’s gaze landed on Senior Sister Zhang—thankfully, she was still calm, her spirit linked to Jiushan.
But Martial Uncle Pang and the others... better not look, or it’d feel like betraying the sect.
Zheng Fa tapped the Sun and Moon Bell three times.
“Dong... Dong... Dong...”
The thunderous chime echoed across the Jiushan Realm and beyond, cleansing hearts of their desires.
Martial Uncle Pang fastened his belt, feeling lingering fear. They had just finished setting up the Immortal Formation, and before they even fought, almost launched a full-on orgy...
Inside the Jiushan Realm, Zheng Fa turned to the Blood River Ancestor, a suspicious look on his face as if to say—You’re also from the Demonic Sect, look at them!
Now the Blood River Ancestor looked a bit defensive:
“That’s a Rakshasa Law Body! Yin-Yang Rakshasa is one of our sect’s top Law Body masters!”
“...So you don’t have a Law Body?”
“Forming a Law Body not only requires reaching Soul Formation, but also a blood bestowal from the Holy Ancestor! I... don’t have the seniority!”
The Blood River Ancestor snorted, clearly disgruntled.
Zheng Fa began to understand.
Chengkong had said the Demonic Sect cultivated the Law Body path. Zheng Fa hadn’t grasped it before, but now he had some insight—
This Law Body could instinctively stir people’s lust.
“Law Body... a manifestation of spells?”
Zheng Fa had a tentative guess, but this was no time for idle thought.
Martial Uncle Pang and the others had just shaken off the illusion and needed to rebuild the formation.
But the Yin-Yang Rakshasa’s attack was already upon them!
The left face smiled, the right face fumed. His palm transformed into a vast cloud, descending from the Ninth Heaven!
The freshly formed hill below lasted less than a day before being flattened again.
The other Law Body’s eight giant serpents opened their jaws. Five-colored mists spewed out, wilting grass instantly and sizzling the rocks. Even solid stone melted like ice in acid.
They said nothing from the moment they appeared—clearly determined to take Jiushan down fast!
The formation wasn’t complete, and without exchanging a word, Senior Sister Zhang and Zheng Fa each stepped up to face one enemy.
Senior Sister Zhang confronted the eight-serpent giant. She hovered three meters above ground, talisman runes dancing like birds around her. The Flying Immortal Brush painted in the air, gradually sketching out the four compound talismans of the True Form of Mountains and Rivers!
As the symbols interlinked, the nine mountains around her shifted forms endlessly—towering peaks, vast lakes, expansive plains, spring in full bloom.
Zheng Fa glimpsed this out of the corner of his eye, stunned—Senior Sister Zhang had grown stronger!
Last time she hurled the Jiushan Ancestor around, there wasn’t such spectacle!
The four talismans surged around the eight-serpent giant.
“Rotation of Heaven and Earth!”
Senior Sister Zhang softly intoned. The space around the serpent giant broke from the Xuanyi Realm, forming a sealed bubble.
Within it, the eight snakes hissed in vain—like sharks trapped in a fish tank, rendered harmless.
As she bound her foe, Zheng Fa faced the Yin-Yang Rakshasa with the Sun and Moon Bell.
Thunder Pool descends once more upon Xuanyi!
Thunder surged around the Rakshasa like a roaring sea.
But this wasn’t an ordinary Soul Formation foe.
Lightning tore him open, but beneath the shredded skin, countless black runes writhed.
Within half a breath, his only change was a more terrifying, frenzied face—no wounds at all.
Zheng Fa didn’t dare unleash the Sun and Moon Bell’s full power, not even moving its true form—because inside the Jiushan Realm, the Blood River Ancestor was still lurking.
Fortunately, though Zheng Fa couldn’t hurt the Yin-Yang Rakshasa, the Rakshasa also couldn’t threaten him through the Jiushan Realm.
But the Yin-Yang Rakshasa didn’t care about him—he headed straight toward Martial Uncle Pang and the others!
Though blocked by thunder, his progress was slow but steady—getting closer and closer to Martial Uncle Pang.
On the other side, the bubble encasing the eight-serpent giant was also on the verge of collapse. Clearly, Senior Sister Zhang’s Nascent Soul-level cultivation was still not enough to trap this Demonic Sect Law Body for long.
Zheng Fa couldn’t help feeling worried—when he had accepted the task from Zhenren Chengkong, he was already prepared:
If it came down to it, he would have no choice but to retreat, taking Martial Uncle Pang, Senior Sister Zhang, and the others into the Jiushan Realm.
As for the revival of the Great Freedom Demon Ancestor...
He couldn’t worry about that anymore!
“Formation, rise!”
Just as he was weighing his options, behind him, Martial Uncle Pang gave the order, and the Nascent Soul-level Zhoutian Divine Thunder Immortal Formation finally manifested!
Twenty-four Nascent Soul cultivators took their positions, forming the array with their bodies, their spiritual energy converging into one through spellwork.
A deity formed of thunder appeared in the air above their heads.
Its face was obscured, with only its eyes flashing with lightning. It opened its mouth and thundered a command that made everyone's divine soul tremble:
“Break the Demon!”
It was Old Yuan shouting. At his command, the twenty-four moved as one, flying straight at the Yin-Yang Rakshasa.
The thunder deity above them resembled a fierce general. He plunged into the thunder pool, grabbed countless bolts of lightning, twisted them into a thousand-zhang spear, and stabbed straight at the Rakshasa’s two-faced visage!
Now the Yin-Yang Rakshasa couldn’t smile anymore.
“What is this thing?!”
Both faces bore the same look of fear and confusion as he rapidly retreated—partly because he didn’t recognize the formation.
But more importantly, this thunder pool heavily restricted him, while empowering the thunder deity!
Senior Sister Zhang’s eyes lit up. She bit her lip and tapped with the Flying Immortal Brush, tossing the bubble holding the eight-serpent giant straight into the thunder pool.
The bubble flickered twice and then vanished.
The eight-serpent giant roared in frustration, a mix of stifled anger and bloodthirsty craving.
But when he turned around—huh?
A faceless thunder god stood before him, holding a very unfriendly-looking long spear.
All around, thunder surged like an ocean, making it hard for him to move.
“Rakshasa!”
He couldn’t help shouting, only to see the Yin-Yang Rakshasa fleeing at the edge of the thunder pool—without even looking back.
“...”
Senior Sister Zhang looked pale, clearly heavily drained, but with the formation and Zheng Fa’s support, she finally had a moment to breathe.
When she had mostly recovered and looked up again, the eight-serpent giant was fighting the thunder deity summoned by the formation, roaring and cursing non-stop.
And all his curses were aimed at one person—
The Yin-Yang Rakshasa.
The Rakshasa was almost out of the thunder pool. Though uninjured, his face was full of confusion and alarm, clearly still trying to figure out this bizarre immortal formation...
“Senior Sister, don’t let him escape!”
Senior Sister Zhang nodded and flew up. The Nine Mountains transformed into another bubble, enclosing the Rakshasa again.
Then she threw the bubble back into the thunder pool.
Yin-Yang Rakshasa felt a moment of darkness, then brightness. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a faceless thunder god, holding a long spear, waving at him like they were old friends.
“Work together!”
The eight-serpent giant didn’t hold a grudge about being abandoned—instead, he roared.
The Rakshasa nodded. The two Law Bodies fought the thunder deity together.
The thunder god formed by the immortal formation wasn’t as strong as a normal Soul Formation cultivator, but with the thunder pool’s amplification, it was quite formidable.
Still, against two Law Bodies, it soon fell behind!
“Senior Sister!” Zheng Fa shouted.
She nodded, and the Nine Mountains once again trapped the two Law Bodies in a bubble.
“Take your medicine!”
Martial Uncle Pang exhaled and called out to the other twenty-three formation members.
The Nascent Souls quickly began replenishing their strength.
By the time Senior Sister Zhang was at her limit, the eight-serpent giant and the Rakshasa opened their eyes again—
And were greeted once more by a fresh, intact, faceless thunder god...
For a moment, the two Law Bodies felt like they were caught in a time loop...
...
Now they understood—Jiushan Sect didn’t aim to kill them, just to trap them in a cycle of attrition.
Zhang Wuyi and Zheng Fa aside—they already knew some of their tricks—
But now that Zhang Wuyi had grown even stronger, that wasn’t the real problem.
It was that damn formation that rendered them helpless!
That faceless thunder god, paired with Zheng Fa’s thunder pool, was a perfect match.
With Zhang Wuyi buying time for the others to recover, they couldn’t break free anytime soon.
“Rakshasa...” said the eight-serpent giant through a sound transmission, staring at the faceless god again, “You were right. Jiushan Sect really isn’t to be underestimated...”
“...”
“Got any ideas?”
With eight snake heads all turning expectantly toward him, Yin-Yang Rakshasa opened his mouth—then found himself speechless.
If I’d known they were this strong, would I have been stupid enough to come here?!
...
Sect Master Chen stood inside the formation, feeling five thousand years younger.
He had been a genius in his youth—dominant in Qi Refining, challenged Foundation Establishment, survived Golden Core.
But after reaching Nascent Soul, cross-realm battle became mythical in Xuanyi Realm.
Yet today, this old man, in the Nascent Soul realm, had fought against Soul Formation!
Even if it was with the help of an immortal formation, even if not alone—
It was still something he’d never dared dream of!
He looked at the other Nascent Souls around him. On each face, he read the same four words—
“I fought Soul Formation!”
...
Zheng Fa glanced at Martial Uncle Pang and the others. Their expressions were still high-spirited, but they were clearly fatigued—
The immortal formation demanded tremendous focus and spiritual energy to maintain peak power.
Even with elixirs, they wouldn’t recover quickly.
Senior Sister Zhang looked paler still, nearing her limit.
Zheng Fa resolved that if Zhenren Chengkong still didn’t arrive, he would have to bring them all into the Jiushan Realm.
Their group had held on alone for long enough!
Just then, a beam of Buddha’s light streaked across the sky—
Master Wuzhi from Leiyin Temple arrived at the edge of the thunder pool with Zhenren Chengkong and Xie Qingxue.
Looking at the scene within the pool, Wuzhi scratched his bald head and turned to Chengkong, his eyes filled with admiration:
“You truly are a prophet, Zhenren. Jiushan Sect actually has those two suppressed... I think we’d have been fine even if we came later!”
Zhenren Chengkong also stared at the thunder pool, where the Yin-Yang Rakshasa was being relentlessly hounded by the thunder deity, roaring in frustration and confusion.
The Rakshasa sensed their arrival and looked up.
In that moment, though he and Zhenren Chengkong stood on opposite sides of the righteous-demonic divide, he felt a kindred spirit—
Because Chengkong’s eyes clearly said—
“Honestly, I didn’t expect Jiushan Sect to be this strong either.”
