Heaven-Defying Rebel Sage

Having heard Wukong’s words, Tathagata sneered and said, "What a joke, how can I, the revered ruler of the world, stoop to engage with a wild monkey like you?"

Wukong sneered back, "I am the Green Emperor of the Demon Tribe, also the revered ruler of the demon world. Do you dare to fight?"

Tathagata shook his head slightly and said, "A bunch of uncivilized beasts, how are they worthy of fighting me!"

Yuan Hong, unable to restrain himself, cursed, "Tathagata, have the teachings of the Buddhist sect flown out of your head? All beings are equal. What does it matter if we are demons? Were Zhun Ti and Jie Yin born as humans?"

Jie Yin was not born a human, nor was Zhun Ti.

This remark left Tathagata somewhat speechless, but then Bodhisattva Birupaksa laughed and said, "I’ll take over for Buddha Ancestor in this battle, I am just a mere Bodhisattva after all, but I too want to witness the might of the Green Emperor. However, it seems that, back during the Journey to the West, the Green Emperor also came to me for help to subdue the Hundred-eyed Demon Lord? Alas, I can’t quite remember. I wonder if it was so."

Fighting involves many strategies, and Bodhisattva Birupaksa’s words aimed to poke at Wukong’s wounds with deceit and trickery, to disrupt Wukong’s Dao heart, increasing her chances of victory in the fight.

Wukong heard Birupaksa’s words and was not annoyed; having severed both his good and evil corpses, deceiving his heart was not easily done.

With the arrival of this group of Buddhas, all involved in the fight took sides, facing each other. Even Guang Chengzi joined the side of Water Curtain Cave, for having killed three Bodhisattvas, the Buddhist Sect would inevitably seek retribution, and he was outnumbered alone.

"Yunzhongzi, Qingxu Daode Zhenjun, Yu Ding Zhenren... reveal yourselves!" Tathagata sneered.

The favored disciples of Lord of Primordial Beginning, hidden among the clouds and using magic to conceal their presence, awaited an opportunity to strike a sneak attack.
