Chapter 258: Seekers
Chapter 258 – Seekers
In another part of the Shadow Realm, Emily, Sophie, and Elira stood face to face with another of Mortis’ Commanders.
This time, it was a woman with bright red hair and matching eyes. She was of average height, but her assets were anything but average—her body was curvy, striking, perfectly proportional in a way that made her presence almost too vivid to ignore.
She floated in the air, looking down at the three Mythic-rank beings standing in front of her. And yet, rather than fear, caution, or even hostility, there was something else that flickered in her gaze...
Curiosity.
"What is your Origin? What type of race are you?" the Commander, Lari, asked, her tone low but soaked in intrigue.
Before any of them could answer, she added, "If you tell me sincerely, I will let you all go without fighting. But only if the information is correct."
A thick black book appeared in her hand, its cover a strange mix of different races drawn in a style both harmonious and unsettlingly vivid. In her other hand, something that looked like a pen, though entirely formed from shadows, coalesced into being.
Then, a simple black chair manifested in the air beneath her. A floating table followed, adorned with food and pastries that steamed ever so slightly, their scent oddly calming.
She crossed her legs and looked at the trio again.
"Now you—!"
She paused, head tilting to the side as if she’d just remembered something important. Her eyes squinted, thoughtful, before a flicker of understanding passed through her face. A pair of gold-rimmed glasses materialized gently onto her nose, and she adjusted them with elegant ease before smiling warmly.
