It had been a few days since the argument, and Julia was on edge.
Each passing hour only heightened her frustration.
Lucas had barely spoken to her since their confrontation, and what was worse, he had stopped accepting anything she gave him.
Food, drinks—everything.
She felt like she was living with a stranger, not her husband.
Now, as she stormed down the hallway of the hospital, her heels clicking loudly against the polished floor, Julia could feel her patience wearing thin.
When she reached the door to the doctor’s office, she didn’t bother knocking.
Instead, she pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The doctor, a thin man with salt-and-pepper hair, looked up from his desk, raising an eyebrow at her sudden entrance.
He seemed curious, intrigued even, by her appearance.
"Mrs. Rossi," he greeted her, leaning back in his chair. "I wasn’t expecting you today. What can I do for you?"
