Chapter 102: Memory Loss
Just then, the door opened quietly, and Gabriel entered, pushing a wheelchair ahead of him.
He had been walking carefully, assuming Lucas was still asleep, but when he looked up, he saw Lucas sitting up, smiling at the children.
Gabriel’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, but his expression softened as he walked further into the room.
"Well, it looks like you’ve got a couple of excellent nurses here, sir," he remarked with a smile.
Lucas smiled faintly. "Yeah, they’ve been taking good care of me."
Gabriel stopped by the bed, his gaze flickering to Lucas’s legs briefly before settling back on his face. "I brought your wheelchair. Thought you might want to move around a bit later, sir."
Lucas glanced at the wheelchair, the reality of his situation settling back in.
He gave a small nod. "Thanks, Gabriel."
Gabriel moved closer and positioned the wheelchair beside the bed, extending a hand to help Lucas into it.
With effort, Lucas shifted his upper body, bracing himself against Gabriel’s support as he was carefully eased from the bed into the wheelchair.
His legs remained unresponsive, a sharp reminder of his current condition, but Gabriel was gentle, making sure Lucas was comfortable before slowly wheeling him away from the bed.
