Once again he had shaken off his pursuers; Li Guanyi was close to the Imperial Path when he heard the sound of something tearing through the air. It was a crossbow arrow, but Li Guanyi did not dodge, for the arrow struck the ground in front of him, most of it embedded in the earth, cracking the bricks and stones.
