After leaving the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee, Kyle headed to his office. After all, so many people had seen him—he couldn’t just disappear without making an appearance.
But as he stepped into the lift, he saw someone familiar standing inside.
"Didn’t I tell you to stay at Number 12 Grimmauld Place?"
Chris looked at Kyle as he walked in, momentarily stunned.
He’d never thought of Kyle as reckless, so he couldn’t understand why Kyle would take the risk of leaving the safe house and coming to the crowded Ministry at a time like this.

The thought made Chris immediately angry.
But in the next second, a golden-red phoenix suddenly appeared on Kyle’s shoulder.
"It’s fine, I came prepared," Kyle said with a smile. "It’s not that easy for You-Know-Who to catch me. Fawkes brought me straight from home—completely safe."
Chris’s rising anger vanished instantly upon hearing this, though he still kept a stern expression.
"What if You-Know-Who launches a direct attack on the Ministry? You’d drag everyone into trouble."
