Everyone in the castle was buzzing with excitement, talking non-stop about the dramatic events of the match. Kyle made his way through the crowd without a word, finally slipping back to the Hufflepuff common room, where he found Cedric and Kanna waiting.
As soon as they saw him, Cedric couldn't hold back. "What on earth happened? Why are you just getting back now? And what was that about a phoenix?"
"The phoenix belongs to Professor Dumbledore—it's, well, sort of his pet," Kyle explained. "But it mostly stays in the Headmaster's office, so you rarely get to see it."
Kanna thought about this for a moment. "So the Headmaster was the one looking for you earlier?"
"Yes."
Kyle glanced around to ensure no one else was listening, then lowered his voice and told them what had happened in the restricted area.
"The Three-Headed Dog went completely berserk..."
