Chapter 374 - 373. Professional Stalkers (1)
I saw as Davian very confidently walked up and signed up for the sword fighting competition. Rune still hadn’t noticed him as he was looking back at Celestia. I pulled the hood over my head a bit more down as he walked over to Celestia.
"I’ll get you that hairpin, My Lady." He said with a smile.
"T-There really isn’t any need to, Your Highness. What if someone noticed that it’s you? They all have seen you at the parade." She spoke.
"It’s fine, My Lady. Nobody will recognise me." Rune said as he pushed his hood back revealing the deep brown hair and he pulled his scarf up to cover the lower half of his handsome face.
"See?" He spoke with the skin near his eyes crinkling as he smiled.
I loved his pink hair despite anything but I guess he was smart enough to forsee this and dyed them in advance. That itself showed that he had seriously thought about this date. That hairpin was necessary to increase my brother’s points so, there was no way that Davian could win this, not with me standing here.
I saw as the fight started and various other fighters stepped ahead in the arena, it wasn’t even that big of an arena it was just a pit that they had created with the ropes tied around to keep the audience from stepping in.
Apart from the commoners there were even some knights who had taken part in this competition. And I could see it clearly from their expertise as they fought with the skills that their opponents lacked.
"Poor commoners have no chance here." I mumbled as I crossed my arms at my chest watching as the fights happened one after the other.
There would be other fighters with a lot of skill and experience but with my brother and Davian in the arena it was impossible for anyone else to have that hairpin. And I had decided that the winner would be my brother Rune so, even if Davian would be bitter about it, I would have him lose.
Finally it was Rune’s turn, I smiled and avoided the urge to cheer for him but he didn’t even need that as he defeated his opponent within the first four seconds of them entering the arena.
