"What about your brother, Lady Aurelius?" Colette asked.
"Didn’t he awaken his power? Do you think he will return?"
Some girls had troubled expressions while others were smirking. It was clear to see the distinction between the parties here. It was a rude question.
I placed my teacup down and smiled at her, "I am sure he will return safely, Your Highness. I have seen him work hard and train every day, so there’s no point in me worrying about him. Besides, he is with His Highness Prince Eric, who is also quite strong, from what I learned from my brother, so I am sure both of them will be returning victoriously."
Her eyes grew sharp and I could almost see her mother’s displeased expression juxtapose with hers. They must be sure that Eric wouldn’t return but it would be quite fun to see their expressions when I would be done with my work.
Colette chuckled, "I see, you really trust your brother’s powers a lot. But have you seen a warfield before? Let me tell you, it is hell, Lady Aurelius. But then again, a sheltered little girl like you might not know what kind of horrors happen there."
I kept my smile intact, "Pardon me, Your Highness. But I can’t say that a warfield is like hell. Hell does not punish innocent people; only evil individuals who have sinned in their lives suffer there."
Her expression changed and I continued, "A war on the other side makes everyone suffer, it doesn’t see innocents or sinners. It is unbiased and the worst that could happen to humanity."
"That’s true,"
"Wars are bad, indeed."
"Lady Aurelius is right."
