Chapter 10: The tragedy
As soon as they settled on the ship, Aksel was surrounded by recruiters from multiple universities. They were eager to exchange contact and, ask him questions about his future career plans. Very quickly Nioh was forgotten which allowed him to sneak out of the encirclement and settle in a quiet spot.
He took out his communication device, which was finally online to check his messages. It had been a few weeks since he had been to the orphanage. He needed to go back and check on Ganny Leah and he was not sure if the big fish he had spent the past few weeks hooking had bitten the bait.
Anyway, he wasn't in a hurry he just wanted to go back home and rest.
"Are you not jealous?" Lieutenant X who had sneaked next to Nioh asked discretly.
A smirk appeared on Nioh's face, even tho he could not hear the words. He reactivated his hearing aid and stood in a military salute.
"Student Nioh! I apologize I am deaf sir! I could not hear what you instructed." He said respectfully.
"At ease! I forgot about that my bad. I asked are you not jealous of your teammate getting all the attention?" X asked.
"Why should I be? We have different objectives he schemed to please small fishes I am aiming for something bigger."
" Oh! What is your objective?" X replied feeling amused.
"I am sorry sir, It is personal"
"Are you sure, you don't want to talk I can change your life with a phone call" he said feeling shocked that the cadet refuted him.
