Arriving at the mansion, Damien found Aurora peacefully sleeping in her room, just as he had been informed. The serenity of her sleep momentarily unsettled him, making him fear that she might actually win their bet.
In truth, Damien wasn’t entirely certain that her love for him alone would be enough to make her stay. He doubted if it was a tangible reason to convince her. Seeking assistance, he consulted his mother, Theresa, who provided him with ideas on how to approach the situation.
This invitation was part of the plan, but it didn’t seem to be working. Was she too fatigued, or did she have no inclination to visit the Phantom Hills? How else could he make her stay, if she wasn’t going to yield?
He was planning to find out about her former mate, maybe it could help understand her properly. When they got back, he was going to task Enoch with that job.
Approaching the bed, Damien positioned himself beside the bedpost, observing her with a blank expression. A small drool near her cheek amused him, realizing that his mother must have worn her out, evident from her exhaustion.
Opting to wait for her to wake up before heading to the Phantom Hills, Damien settled into a chair at a distance from the bed, keeping a vigilant eye on her, not wanting to miss her awakening.

Turning and shifting, Aurora luxuriated in the comfort of the nap she had just taken. Stretching her arms and yawning, she contemplated the need for a meal before setting out to find Scarlet.
This nap turned out to be the best she’d had since entering the mansion. Perhaps Luna wasn’t all that bad, she could indulge in naps whenever she pleased. Considering the benefits that came with the position, she entertained the thought for a moment.
