Chapter 82: Apologies
Dave’s playful demeanor returned as he excitedly exclaimed upon seeing Aurora dressed beautifully. Their presence drew the attention of everyone around them, some devoid of animosity, while others exhibited disdain.
Theresa observed them with a sense of satisfaction, noting their perfect compatibility. Observing Aurora, Theresa noticed her potential as a Luna, sensing a certain radiance about her.
"Look at him, parading the woman around like a common whore," Laura muttered with a mix of disgust and contempt, her gaze fixed on Aurora. Damien appeared unfazed by disrespecting his future in-laws, which only fueled Laura’s lack of respect for him.
"Mother," Sarah interjected, feigning disapproval at her mother’s choice of words. However, her true feelings were evident, she regarded Aurora with disdain.
Aurora’s unease grew, her heart racing, causing her to unconsciously grip Damien’s wrist.
Realizing her gesture, she hurriedly apologized, "Sorry," and attempted to retract her hand, but Damien surprisingly held onto it, their fingers intertwining firmly.
Sarah’s revulsion at the sight of their linked hands prompted her to exit the scene, her mother following suit.
A triumphant smirk played on Damien’s lips as he watched them leave, satisfied with their departure. With the audience of disapproval removed, Aurora could now gaze forward without fear.
Walking towards the exit, their hands remained tightly entwined. At this moment, Aurora found an unexpected sense of security in Damien’s touch.
She noticed his polished appearance, a navy blue suit, impeccably combed hair slicked to the side, exuding a sharp elegance. Handsome as he appeared, Aurora reminded herself to be cautious, his attire didn’t mask the potential danger he posed. He might look calm now, but the devil in him could be unleashed anytime.
"Should I join you?" Dave inquired, approaching Aurora. She offered a sheepish smile, uncertain how to respond, as only Damien could provide the answer. The destination and purpose of their outing remained a mystery to her.
