Chapter 78: Speaking of the devil Dave
Observing Sarah’s bothered expression, Charlotte inquired, "Is something bothering you?" Sarah didn’t want to withhold anything from Charlotte, but she feared the consequences of trusting a friend, just as her mother had warned her about.
After a moment of contemplation, Sarah made a decision and smiled, responding, "I am feeling anxious about my upcoming wedding, everything is happening so quickly." Concerned, Charlotte pouted and held Sarah’s hands.
"You are about to become a Luna, a position next to the Alpha himself. You should be proud of yourself and not let anything weigh you down," Charlotte encouraged Sarah, her eyes sincere, though uncertain if her words were the right ones. She had a nagging feeling that being a Luna should not be a source of pride.
Charlotte considered her own circumstances with Dave, if their relationship had worked out, she might also have been in a favorable position, as Dave’s power was almost on par with an Alpha’s, although Damien still held the Alpha’s dominance.
On the other hand, Ronald held the rank of a beta, and while he was merely the Alpha’s cousin in their pack, he was still well-respected.
"Do you think so?" Sarah asked with a sad look, lacking confidence in herself.
"Of course, I’m Alpha’s sister, and I take pride in that. Moreover, it would have been better if you had married my brother. Then I could help you anytime and any day," Charlotte reassured, whispering the last sentence to prevent eavesdropping walls.
Sarah giggled and playfully smacked Charlotte’s arm, causing Charlotte to join in the laughter.
"In my next life, I will definitely be your brother’s mate," Sarah playfully replied, winking at Charlotte.
Changing the subject, Charlotte inquired with a serious expression, "How is your wedding dress coming along?"
"You know my mother, she probably has everything covered. All I have to do is prepare for the wedding," Sarah said with a hint of boredom, rolling her eyes at how her mother controlled everything.
