Chapter 74: Lucas never loved me
"Stop!" Damien commanded when he was just a few steps away from them, casually putting his hands into his pockets. Did Aurora deliberately avoid him?
"Don’t stop," Aurora urged as Scarlet’s strides slowed. She feared losing her composure if she faced Damien directly. It was already challenging to control herself.
"Would you love to be locked in your room for two days?" Damien threatened, his voice tinged with anger. He seemed to be using his authority over her again.
Unable to hold back any longer, Scarlet stepped forward and let go of Aurora’s arm.
"Scarlet, no!" Aurora called after her but the latter was too annoyed to listen to her pleas. Aurora bit her lips, worried that things might not end well if they both engaged in a heated argument.
"What do you think she is, your puppet?" Scarlet confronted him boldly.
"And what are you? Her maid?" Damien retorted, his demeanor matching Scarlet’s boldness.
Enoch worried that Scarlet might lose her temper and do something regrettable. He knew her anger could be overwhelming and harmful to others. Though Damien was even more unstable, this confrontation wasn’t going to end well. Enoch didn’t want to go near Scarlet, knowing how repulsed she would be by his presence.
Scarlet scoffed and moved closer to Damien, muttering as she warned, "I don’t care if you kill me, but I won’t let you use Aurora like some plaything."
