Chapter 63: Skimpy gown
Tenderly rubbing Aurora’s white hair, which always intrigued her, Scarlet wondered if her friend had origins beyond just being human, there was something extraordinary about that white hair.
"Hmmm," Aurora shifted, moaning as she woke up, standing up immediately when she met Scarlet’s gaze.
"How are you feeling?" Aurora asked with concern and relief evident in her voice.
"Were you here all day?" Scarlet inquired, prompting Aurora to look out the window, gasping at the darkness outside. Aurora had tried everything she knew to take care of Scarlet since she vehemently opposed the idea of being treated by a doctor, leading Aurora to care for her against her wishes.
Seeing Scarlet’s improved condition, Aurora felt content with her efforts.
Shaking her head, Scarlet frowned as she caught a glimpse of a faint memory of Enoch’s face. She then asked, "Was someone else here?"
Scarlet’s question made Aurora’s heart skip a beat, wondering how she knew about Enoch’s presence while she was unconscious. Reminding herself of the promise she made to Enoch, Aurora lied, "No, I took care of you alone. My poor body," pretending to be in pain.
