Chapter 1492: Two Maniacs (III)

It was rare for a major world to be destroyed and a dao universe to collapse. Hence, everyone was slightly curious.

“Hao Moon, you should’ve asked this question earlier,” Void laughed while Drouth was still contemplating. “I actually know a thing or two.”

The group turned toward him, but Void ignored them.

“With the collapse of a dao universe, there should be corresponding declines or deaths in exalted emperors since they bring the great dao into themselves.” He turned toward Li Hao. “But what you speak of applies to dao origin exalted emperors!”

“Dao origin exalted emperors?” Li Hao looked at him, puzzled.

“The great dao has an origin,” nodded Void. “Under normal circumstances, only a portion of exalted emperors in a dao universe are related to the origin of great dao. Take Utmost Dark, for example. The master of the world is sure to possess part of the dao origin, and some who have received his trust will as well. Those with a portion of dao origin will be stronger and cultivate faster. That is what is meant to be part of the origin!

“But there is a limit to the number of people who can share this origin, and they die with the collapse of the dao universe!

“Some of the peripherally associated exalted emperors will not be affected. They are only part of the dao universe and have taken up residence in a portion of it. Their actions are inconsequential and do not affect the root of the dao universe. Strictly speaking, they’re only vassal exalted emperors. They are not direct wielders or the core echelon!”

Li Hao understood, so this was the case! However much one paid forth in effort was however much one received.

If the dao universe was gone, that meant core origin had directly collapsed and those sharing in the dao origin would all die. Meanwhile, peripherally associated exalted emperors wouldn’t be affected. They would be fine even if the dao universe was no more. The energy they’d absorbed would remain; it would just be difficult to ascend in the future.

At this moment, Drouth and a few others—including the Dragon Observatory leader—looked strangely at Void. Most were unaware of this secret, particularly wandering cultivators. They did not come in contact with a dao universe and hence, were unfamiliar with it.

Even Li Hao, having discovered a dao universe, was not aware of these particulars.
