Chapter 1565: It’s Good When He Relaxes
Enna Clark saw that he had relaxed and followed suit. She was worried only if Baron Lawrence remained uptight. After relaxing, Enna smiled slightly and agreed quickly, "Okay."
She grilled a few more pieces of pork belly and placed some shrimp on the side. After flipping them a couple of times, the vermicelli scallops started to bubble, and a scent of seafood mixed with garlic hit her nose. Enna checked to see if the scallops were cooked through, and once sure, she placed some onto his plate and also took one for herself.
"Lots of comments said their vermicelli scallops are especially delicious. I wasn’t sure if they would be good, so I only ordered four. Try one and see if it’s tasty. If it is, I’ll ask the server to bring more," she said.
"Vermicelli scallops?" Baron Lawrence was eating this dish for the first time.
Seafood is usually found in Western food, but Western cuisine isn’t keen on shellfish, let alone adding something as inelegant as garlic for flavoring. At most, escargot are served.
Dishes like these, with vermicelli on top of scallops, topped with stir-fried minced garlic and millet pepper, were new to him.
Baron Lawrence tried one; the vermicelli had completely absorbed the seafood’s freshness after being grilled over charcoal, further enhanced by the flavors of minced garlic and millet pepper, maximizing the savory taste of the seafood. Moreover, the freshly grilled scallops were still hot, and the hotter they were, the more delicious they tasted.
A light sparked in Baron Lawrence’s eyes.
"Order some more," he said.
Enna tried one too, and indeed, it was delicious. "Mhm."
She called over the server and ordered a large serving, then handed over a Wong Lo Kat herbal drink that was brought to their table, saying, "I’ll grill some vegetables later to cleanse our palate, maybe eggplant."
